The Abia State Government, reiterated its dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of both residents and visitors across the state.

In a joint interview with journalists following the monthly State Security Council meeting on Thursday, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Navy Commodore MacDonald Ubah (Rtd), and the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Danladi Isa, underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.

Describing the meeting as part of the state government’s proactive approach to security, Ubah explained, “This is a monthly meeting that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, normally holds.

It is in furtherance of all the security measures that have been put in place to secure Abia State as it is.”

Responding to recent concerns over the killing of a businessman from Arochukwu, Ubah assured that security agencies were thoroughly investigating the incident.

“All hands are on deck to unravel that incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Whenever we have results, they will be made public,” he confirmed.

In addition, CP Danladi Isa spoke about the purpose of the meeting, which was to assess the security situation in the state.

He characterized Abia’s security landscape as largely peaceful, attributing this to successful operations by various security agencies aimed at maintaining law and order.

Reflecting on past efforts, CP Isa noted that a similar security meeting held in November last year led to special operations across Aba, Umuahia, and other local government areas during the festive season, ensuring peaceful celebrations.

“As you witnessed, with the special operations carried out in Aba, Umuahia, and all area councils, we had relative peace.

People came in for Christmas and New Year celebrations, and there was relative calm,” he said.

The Commissioner of Police assured the public that the Police Command would continue to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the safety of all residents.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces, emphasizing the command’s steadfast commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the state.
