Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda, and other lawmakers are currently engaged in a crucial meeting outside the legislative chambers, ahead of a plenary session initially scheduled for 1pm, “The PUNCH” reports.
The gathering includes key figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC) state leadership, such as the party’s chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, as well as the state Attorney-General, Lawal Pedro (SAN).
While the details of the meeting remain undisclosed, there is growing speculation that the ongoing leadership crisis at the Assembly could soon be resolved.
Unverified reports suggest that Meranda may be poised to resign later today.
Obasa, who arrived at approximately 1:30 pm, joined the lawmakers for the discussions, which are taking place under a tent outside the Assembly building.
At present, Obasa, Meranda, Ojelabi, and the Attorney-General have separated from the other lawmakers to hold a separate meeting.
