President Bola Tinubu joined other African leaders in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit on Tuesday.
The summit, which commenced on January 27, aims to address energy security, affordability, and sustainability across the continent.
Tinubu was seen alongside Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and other dignitaries at the high-profile event.
The two-day gathering is hosted by the government of Tanzania in collaboration with the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group.
The Nigerian president arrived in Dar es Salaam at 10:20 p.m. local time (8:20 p.m. Nigerian time) and was welcomed by Tanzanian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo and Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires to Tanzania, Ambassador Salisu Suleiman.
The summit underscores Africa’s collective efforts to tackle pressing energy challenges and boost access to sustainable power solutions.
Tinubu’s delegation highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to advancing this shared vision, with plans to unveil a new initiative aimed at driving energy transformation on the continent.
Observers note that the summit provides an important platform for African leaders to collaborate on strategies that can bridge the energy gap and foster economic growth.
