Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and food security as key pillars of the state’s prosperity.
In a statement, the governor highlighted the successful training of 340 youth graduates at the Livestock and Horticulture Institute in Bagauda, Bebeji Local Government Area.
This marks the first batch of graduates since the institute’s reopening under the current administration.
Another 340 youths have already been enrolled for the second batch of training.
“The graduates from the Livestock Institute have embarked on a journey that transcends personal development,” Yusuf said.
“They have now become critical stakeholders in the pursuit of food security in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
Livestock farming is not only essential for nutritional sustenance but also serves as a cornerstone of economic growth,” he continued.
The governor assured the graduates of continuous support through resources, mentorship, and market access to ensure their success.
Speaking on the horticulture graduates, Yusuf emphasized their importance in promoting sustainability, environmental health, and creating livable communities.
To further encourage their entrepreneurial efforts, each horticulture graduate received water pumps, sack sprayers, essential gardening tools, and a seed capital of ₦100,000.
The governor urged them to collaborate by forming cooperatives and networks to amplify their impact.
