Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria striker, Victor Boniface, revealed on Sunday that he was involved in a car accident, sharing footage and photos of the aftermath.

The images, posted on social media, showed his car severely damaged, while the forward’s arm appeared to be bleeding.

Boniface later deleted the post.

According to the German tabloid Bild, “Boniface is doing well considering the circumstances and is only slightly injured,” as confirmed by a source close to the player.

In a follow-up post, Boniface expressed gratitude, writing, “God is the greatest” and “God says my time hasn’t come.”

While his club, Bayer Leverkusen, has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

The 23-year-old striker has been in remarkable form this season.

Since joining the team last year, Boniface has helped lead Leverkusen to an unbeaten league and cup double, including their historic first Bundesliga title.

He also earned his debut call-up to the Nigeria national team.

This season, Boniface has scored seven goals in 10 matches across all competitions.

Despite missing a penalty on Saturday, he headed in the winning goal in Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Leverkusen is set to face French club Brest in the Champions League on Wednesday.
