Tottenham Hotspur, confirmed the extension of captain Son Heung-min’s contract, keeping the South Korean forward at the club until 2026.
Son, 32 years of age, joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has since become a key figure in the team.
With 431 appearances and 169 goals, he is currently the fourth-highest scorer in the club’s history.
Appointed club captain in August 2023, Son has consistently demonstrated his value on and off the pitch.
He notably shared the Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the 2021/22 season, scoring 23 goals.
On the international stage, Son has been a vital leader for South Korea, earning 131 caps and netting 51 goals for his national team.
Despite Tottenham’s current struggles, sitting 12th in the Premier League, Son has managed to score seven goals across all competitions this season, showcasing his unwavering contribution to the team.
The contract extension solidifies Son’s future at Spurs, reinforcing his role as both a player and leader as the club seeks to regain form.
