President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Kayode Egbetokun as Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, with Assistant Inspector-General Tunji Disu set to assume the role, a presidency source confirmed to ARISE News on Tuesday.
According to the source, an official announcement is expected shortly. “AIG Tunji Disu is the new IGP. Confirmed,” the source said, adding that the information had received “double confirmation.”
Attempts to get a reaction from the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
More details on the leadership change are expected to be released in due course.
