Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and Distinguished Senator Representing Niger North Senatorial District, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello has expressed profound sadness and extended his deepest condolences to His Excellency, Farmer Governor Umar Bago, and the entire people of Niger State, following the tragic tanker explosion that claimed numerous lives in the Lapai-Agaie axis of Agaie Local Government Area.
The devastating incident, which occurred on Sunday, involved a head-on collision between a petrol tanker and a trailer carrying over 60 people and 50 cows en route from Kano to Lagos. The resulting explosion led to a heartbreaking loss of lives, leaving families and communities in mourning.
In a statement made available, Senator Sani Bello conveyed his deep grief and solidarity with the Farmer Governor and those affected, stating:
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Farmer Governor of Niger State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, and to the grieving families and communities impacted by this Ghastly tragedy.
The loss of so many lives in such a horrific manner has shaken us all, and my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved as they navigate this painful time.”
The Senator acknowledged the resilience of the people and emphasized the importance of standing together in the face of adversity. He called on the relevant authorities and emergency agencies to ensure comprehensive support is provided to the victims’ families and the injured.
