Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been appointed Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council to lead the party’s drive for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for November 16.

The appointment was announced in a statement released by the APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, on Thursday.

Sanwo-Olu will lead the 305-member council, bringing his extensive leadership experience in Lagos to craft winning strategies for the Ondo campaign. Supporting him as the council’s secretary is former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

The council also includes prominent APC members, such as Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

The statement reads in part, “The National Working Committee, led by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the composition of the Ondo State National Gubernatorial Campaign Council. The inauguration of the council will be held at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, Ondo State, on October 28.”

Other key figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, are part of the council, highlighting the APC’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Ondo.

The team also features notable former officials such as Chief Olusola Oke, Senator Stella Oduah, Senator Uche Ekwunife, and retired General Abdulrahman Dambazau, each bringing expertise to various campaign operations.
