2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Set to Begin in Colombia as Falconets Prepare for Opening Match Against Korea Republic

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, the Falconets, are ready for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia after completing a two-week training camp in Bogota. The Falconets secured their spot in the tournament by defeating Tanzania and Burundi on aggregate, claiming one of Africa’s tickets.

Since their debut in 2002, the Falconets have consistently competed in the tournament, participating in various editions across the globe. This year’s competition features 24 teams for the first time, and the Falconets face a challenging group stage, where they will play Korea Republic, Germany, and Venezuela.

The Falconets will kick off their campaign against Korea Republic on September 2, 2024, at the 10,000-seat Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogota. They will then face Germany on September 5 at the same venue before concluding their group stage matches against Venezuela on September 7 at the Estadio Pascual Guerrero in Cali.

The opening match against Korea Republic will be broadcast live on Supersport, with kickoff scheduled for 12 AM Nigerian time.
