Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has endorsed the resolutions of the State House of Assembly regarding the suspension of some public officials.
In line with the Assembly’s decision, the governor confirmed the suspension of the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Area, Maxwell Ogiri, for one month, effective Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Also affected by the suspension are the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Grace Adagba, and the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Lottery Commission, Michael Uper, who will both serve the same one-month suspension.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the rule of law, due process, and the principle of separation of powers.
He commended the House of Assembly for “exercising its constitutional responsibilities” and assured residents that his government remains steadfast in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance.
The governor further urged all affected institutions to ensure uninterrupted service delivery during the suspension period and called on the people of Benue State to continue supporting his administration’s efforts towards building “a state that works for all.”
