The body of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, ahead of his final burial rites.
The remains, which touched down at approximately 1:59 p.m., were accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and members of the late president’s family.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, led members of the State Executive Council and other dignitaries—including Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin—in receiving the body. Several family members of the former president were also present at the airport.
According to officials, Buhari’s remains will be transported to his hometown, Daura, for interment following a military farewell ceremony.
