Nigerian striker Victor Boniface opened up about a serious car accident he survived on October 20 in Germany, expressing gratitude for emerging from the ordeal with his life.
Boniface, who plays for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, shared a video of the heavily damaged vehicle on his Instagram Stories.
In an interview with “Football Fans Tribe” on YouTube, the footballer recounted the chilling experience.
“I was having my childhood friend from Nigeria; they were coming to visit.
So, we were supposed to pick them up from the airport.
I was sleeping, and my other friend was driving,” he explained.
Boniface described waking up to find the car spinning uncontrollably.
“I woke up, and we were spinning.
Well, we thank God,” he said, noting that the vehicle spun three times before coming to a halt.
Despite the crash’s severity, Boniface sustained only minor injuries.
“I just had a scar, but the most important thing is that I’m alive,” he said, reflecting on the incident.
He also acknowledged the total loss of the car but emphasized that life was the ultimate priority.
“The car is written off and everything, but the most important thing is life for me,” Boniface added.
The striker’s resilience and gratitude underscore his relief at surviving what could have been a tragic accident.
