The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mary Alile Idele, called on the newly appointed Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, to make the fight against gender-based violence a key focus of her tenure.

In a statement released on Thursday, Idele stressed the need for policies that address this issue and provide support for vulnerable women across Nigeria.

“I urge you to work towards implementing policies that combat gender-based violence and support vulnerable women in the country,” Idele said.

She further praised Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s appointment, calling it a significant victory for Nigerian women and a reflection of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Idele highlighted the new minister’s extensive experience and dedication to women’s issues, noting her suitability for the role.

“Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s extensive experience and unwavering commitment to women’s issues make her the ideal candidate for this critical role, and I urge all stakeholders to rally behind her so she can deliver on her mandate,” Idele added.

Expressing confidence in Sulaiman-Ibrahim’s leadership, Idele urged all stakeholders, as well as Nigerian women, to support the minister in her mission to promote women’s inclusion and empowerment.

She emphasized the importance of visionary leadership in tackling the challenges faced by women and girls in the country, encouraging the minister to advocate for better access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for women.

In conclusion, Idele congratulated Sulaiman-Ibrahim on her appointment, expressing optimism that her leadership would bring meaningful progress for women nationwide.

“The APC looks forward to seeing her impactful leadership in the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs,” she said.
