BreakthroughUnited States President Donald Trump has announced the cancellation of planned military strikes against Iran, citing progress in high-level diplomatic engagements with the Islamic Republic.

In a statement shared on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump said discussions involving Iran had reached the highest levels of leadership, paving the way for a possible agreement between both countries.”Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have… cancelled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,” Trump stated. The U.S.

President further suggested that a formal agreement could soon be reached, raising hopes of a diplomatic resolution to the prolonged tensions between Washington and Tehran.”Time and place of the signing to be announced shortly,” he added.Trump’s announcement marks a significant shift from earlier threats of military action, as the United States and Iran continue efforts to navigate one of the most volatile periods in their recent relationship. The decision to halt the planned attacks comes amid intensified international calls for restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement in the Middle East.

While details of the proposed agreement remain unclear, the development signals a potential de-escalation of tensions that had heightened fears of a broader regional conflict.Iranian authorities had not immediately issued a comprehensive response to Trump’s remarks at the time of reporting.

However, the announcement has drawn global attention, with observers closely monitoring whether the diplomatic overtures will culminate in a formal deal.If successful, the anticipated agreement could represent a major breakthrough in efforts to stabilise the region and avert further military confrontation between the two long-standing adversaries.
