Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the UEFA Champions League Final after overcoming Bayern Munich in their semifinal tie to remain on course to retain their European crown.

Managed by Luis Enrique, PSG arrived in Munich with a slender 5-4 advantage from a thrilling first-leg encounter in Paris and delivered a composed display at the Allianz Arena to secure progression despite late pressure from the hosts.

The French champions made a dream start when Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring just three minutes into the match after a brilliant run and assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, silencing the home crowd and extending PSG’s aggregate lead.

Bayern responded with sustained attacking pressure but struggled to penetrate PSG’s disciplined defence, with Harry Kane largely kept quiet for most of the encounter. The German side also had penalty appeals turned down in the first half after Joao Neves handled the ball following a clearance from teammate Vitinha.

PSG continued to threaten after the interval, with Desire Doue going close on several occasions, while Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer produced a string of important saves to keep the hosts in the contest.

Kane eventually found the net deep into stoppage time for his 55th goal of the season, but it was not enough to spark a comeback as Vincent Kompany’s side exited the competition in disappointment.

PSG will now face Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest on May 30.
