Moves toward a 2027 re-election campaign for President Bola Tinubu have gathered momentum after leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) purchased his nomination and expression of interest forms valued at N100 million.
The form was collected at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja by James Faleke, who said the purchase was made on behalf of Nigerians.
“I have done so on behalf of all Nigerians,” Faleke said. “There is no one particular person that has done this.”
He disclosed that more than 1,000 supporters contributed funds toward the purchase, adding, “Here again, I am privileged to buy the form on behalf of all Nigerians, for our president.”
In Lagos, the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) also confirmed its involvement in funding the purchase. Its chairman, Tajudeen Olusi, said members jointly contributed for the forms.
“The council resolved to collectively purchase the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms,” Olusi stated, dismissing claims that the move was financed by a single individual.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also expressed support, noting that party members remain aligned with Tinubu’s policy direction.
Faleke further collected nomination forms for Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and former senator Idiat Adebule.
Meanwhile, in Bauchi State, Shehu Buba obtained a governorship nomination form, declaring his intention to contest.
“I am physically present to obtain my nomination forms,” Buba said, adding that he is ready for the race.
