President Bola Tinubu has commended Nigerian-American basketball player E. J. Anosike for his outstanding achievements in China, describing his success as a source of pride for Nigeria and the global Nigerian community.

The President praised Anosike’s performances in China’s National Basketball League (NBL), where he has earned top honours and continued to distinguish himself as one of the league’s standout players.

In a statement, Tinubu highlighted the significance of the athlete’s accomplishments, noting that his rise reflects the resilience and excellence associated with Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.He applauded Anosike for “flying the Nigerian flag high” on the international stage and urged him to remain focused and continue inspiring young Nigerians through his achievements.

Anosike, who plays professionally in China, has recorded notable milestones, including All-Star recognition and individual awards that have cemented his growing reputation in global basketball. The President also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting sports development, expressing optimism that more Nigerian talents would emerge and excel globally.

Tinubu’s commendation underscores the increasing impact of Nigerian athletes in international sports and the role of diaspora success stories in promoting the country’s image worldwide.
