Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso have merged their political structures into a new platform known as the “OK Movement,” signalling early realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. The development was confirmed by key figures within both camps, who said the decision was aimed at consolidating grassroots support and strengthening opposition coordination.
According to the organisers, the newly formed movement is designed to unify supporters of both political leaders under a common structure, with the goal of presenting a more formidable front in the next presidential contest. A spokesperson involved in the process described the merger as a strategic step to harness the “organic support base” of both politicians, noting that their followers had independently demonstrated strong mobilisation capacity in previous electoral cycles.
The “OK Movement” is expected to serve as a political vehicle for collaboration, bringing together loyalists from both sides while aligning their interests ahead of 2027.The move comes amid ongoing discussions around potential alliances within Nigeria’s opposition space, as political actors reposition for what is anticipated to be a highly competitive election cycle.
