Manchester United are set to embark on a Nordic pre-season tour as part of preparations for the 2026/27 season, marking a return to the region after several years.

The club confirmed plans to play a series of friendly matches across Scandinavia, with fixtures scheduled in countries including Finland and Norway as part of a broader European tour.

The tour is expected to take place in July and August, offering the team an opportunity to build match fitness and cohesion ahead of the new campaign.

The tour will see United engage in pre-season fixtures across the Nordic region as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Among the early confirmed fixtures, the English side is set to face lower-league English club Wrexham in Helsinki, followed by a clash against Norwegian side Rosenborg in Trondheim.

The decision to opt for a Nordic tour comes amid scheduling adjustments influenced by the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has disrupted the traditional pre-season calendar.

The club’s pre-season plans have been shaped by “an unconventional schedule” due to the global tournament.

The move also reflects Manchester United’s strong fanbase in Scandinavia, with the region historically serving as a key market for the club’s international engagements.

Beyond match preparations, the tour is expected to strengthen fan engagement and commercial activities, while giving supporters in the Nordic region the opportunity to see the team up close.

The pre-season fixtures will form a crucial part of the club’s build-up as they aim to compete strongly across domestic and European competitions in the new season.
