United States President Donald Trump has said Israel will not carry out further strikes on Iran’s major gas facility, marking a shift in tone following recent escalations in the Middle East conflict.
Trump made the remark after Israel targeted Iran’s South Pars gas field, an attack that triggered retaliatory missile strikes by Tehran across the Gulf region.
In a statement, Trump indicated that no additional attacks on the facility are expected, while warning that any fresh aggression from Iran—particularly against Qatar—could provoke a strong response.
He stressed that Israel’s action was a reaction to rising tensions, but added that further strikes on the gas infrastructure would not occur under current conditions.
Trump also insisted that the United States had no prior involvement in the attack, stating that Washington “knew nothing” about the operation.
Addressing Iran’s retaliation, he described Tehran’s strike on Qatar as “unjustified,” noting that the Gulf state “was in no way, shape, or form, involved” in the initial attack.
Despite the apparent de-escalation, Trump maintained a hardline stance, warning that any further Iranian attacks on Qatar could trigger overwhelming U.S. retaliation, including threats to target Iran’s energy infrastructure.
The developments come amid heightened regional tensions following exchanges of strikes between Israel and Iran, which have disrupted energy supplies and raised concerns about broader instability in the Middle East.
