Mohamed Salah has announced he will leave Liverpool FC at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing an end to a celebrated nine-year spell at Anfield.

The 33-year-old forward confirmed his departure in a heartfelt video shared on social media, signaling the beginning of his farewell to the club he described as deeply significant to his life.

“Hello everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season,” Salah said.

Having joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017, Salah has made 435 appearances and scored 255 goals, making him the club’s third-highest goalscorer of all time.

During his time at Anfield, he played a central role in the club’s modern success, winning multiple major honours including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Reflecting on his journey, Salah spoke about his emotional connection to the club and its supporters.

“I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club. It’s a passion, it’s a history, it’s a spirit,” he said.

He added: “Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life… Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone.”

Liverpool also confirmed that both parties have reached an agreement for Salah to depart at the end of the season, describing his tenure as an “illustrious” chapter in the club’s history.

Despite a challenging current campaign and reported tensions with manager Arne Slot, Salah remains one of the most influential players in Liverpool’s history, with his legacy firmly secured as he prepares to exit the club.
